About the Place:

Built by a pioneering woman of Alaska, this private Chalet is a two-story dry cabin with balcony and decks, an outdoor fire pit, outhouse, and wood sauna perched at the top of Homer. Water is provided in 5-gallon jugs from an adjacent well and then foot pumped for use in the kitchen sink. The kitchen is fully furnished with propane stove, oven, refrigerator, outside propane BBQ and freezer, all appliances and utensils. The upstairs Master Queen bedroom loft has an unbelievable view but does require climbing wooden ladder stairs. The Chalet has electricity and is heated by both a Toyo oil stove and wood stove. The main floor living area has a dining table, soft chair, bookcase with games, puzzles, music, binoculars, local maps, and guidebooks.

The living area also has trundle couch bed with 2 twin beds. The adjacent wood sauna has 2 additional single bunk beds with mattresses & bedding or can be used as a sauna and shower. The sauna’s small 5-gallon propane water heater and electric pump allow guests the option for a short hot shower. There is an outside fire pit, balcony table and chairs and outdoor chairs to relax, take in the view, do yoga on the deck or simply write or meditate. The chalet, sauna, and surrounding property is a smoke, alcohol, drug, and firearm free space.
