” Lookout mountain cabin is the perfect getaway! The setting is unbelievable with sweeping wilderness all around and we began each day with a stunning sunrise. The cabin is cozy and warm and our hosts provided us with everything we needed including the one item most BnBs are lacking: a sharp kitchen knife! The kitchen was very well equipped for the gourmet meals we made each night and there were games and books to entertain us. We slept so soundly in the very comfortable bed, most important on our list, and the absolute quiet was fantastic. Every day was filled with skiing and biking and snowshoeing as the trails are literally right there; one of Alaska’s best Nordic ski trail systems is a five minute walk from the cabin door. Over our five day stay our hosts checked in several times via text to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us our privacy that we craved after a busy work season. What an incredible spot!”– Troy and Stacie

“I loved my stay in this great location with amazing hosts. The cabin is situated among the highest mountains in Homer, and if you’re looking for peace, quiet, breath-taking views and time to commune with Mother Nature, this is the place to be. Suraj and Michaela made sure that I had everything I needed and were available just a text away. My favorite part about staying in the cabin was waking up to the sunrise that can be viewed from two of the beds that face panoramic windows or from outside on the front deck. I hope to return soon.” – Jillian McGill, Eagle River, Alaska

“This is such a beautiful chalet! Suraj was very responsive & made sure we were able to find the chalet easily. It’s in a more secluded area but is still a quick & easy drive away from restaurants & shops. The chalet is clean, cozy, and has all the necessities you need for a comfortable stay. It’s a dry chalet, but the outhouse is a close walk & is clean. We woke up in the mornings in time to catch the amazing sunrise. Thank you for having us, Suraj!”- Joanna Cabodoc, Hawaii

“Wonderful hosts, wonderful view, and wonderful all around experience.” –Shawn and Casey, Iowa

“Wow, what an amazing place. I am flabbergasted by the true serenity of this chalet, especially for the price. It boasts incredible views, isolation, simple living, and so much more. If you are on the fence about booking this place, do it now. You won’t regret it!”- Austin Peppers, Ohio

“Great stay in this beautiful chalet! It is located in the hills just behind Homer and is maybe a 15 min drive to town. There is a parking spot available and it is just a few hundred feet to the chalet. There was still snow on the ground (early May) but snow shoes and a sled were provided to move luggage over it. It was cozy and warm inside with the oil heater and the big windows offered great views of the surrounding hills and mountains. I saw a bunch of moose in the area and spotted eagles circling the valley through the windows… a few of them passed pretty close to the house! Kitchen, table, books and a day bed on the first floor, then a queen bed in a loft accessible by a ladder. As the description states, it is a dry cabin with electricity but no wifi. The outhouse and sauna are 20-30 feet from the door. Showers are available if you bring water to the sauna and heat it up. It was pretty user friendly and doesn’t take long to heat. The host was friendly, communicated quickly and often, and provided lots of info about the local area. Thank you for a lovely stay!” Serena

“Our stay in Suraj’s dry chalet was one of the highlights of our trip. It felt like we were in a completely authentic alaskan chalet, and the views were absolutely incredible. I swear I could sit on the deck for hours and never get bored of the unobstructed forest and mountain views. The cabin itself was very clean, and there was everything we needed from pots/pans/spices/coffee etc. Suraj was also very hospitable. The check in was smooth and she even had homemade vegan, gluten free, muffins waiting for us with wild blueberries from her garden. She also made sure to give us all of the best recommendations for things to do while in Homer.” Madeline, Washington
