Sacred Pipe Ceremony- Austria

The Sacred Pipe Ceremony is one of the seven purification rites that White Buffalo Calf Woman gave to the Native American Lakota tribe to spiritually prepare them for the coming times of crisis and change on Earth. This ritual serves to send our prayers to the heavens through the smoke, thereby cleansing our minds, our mouths and hearts. The pipe smoke is not inhaled and the pipe blend used in this ceremony contains no tobacco, but rather calming herbs. We have the opportunity to communicate with the Holy Spirit (the Divine) and receive spiritual insight, guidance and peace.

The ceremony is dedicated on the Mexican Maya’s DAY OUT OF TIME, because the previous day (July 24) marks the end of the old year in their Tzolkin calendar , and the new year begins on July 26. July 25, the day we celebrate, is the DAY OUT OF TIME. This day belongs neither to the old nor the new year and has been ceremoniously celebrated for thousands of years. The BLUE RHYTHMIC STORM year ends and the YELLOW RESONANT SEED year begins—very fitting for sowing new energetic seeds for our lives and setting intentions for the coming year.

Michaela Baumgartner , a native of Gramastetten, has lived in Alaska for 15 years and works with White Eagle Medicine Woman and the Whirling Rainbow Foundation. Michaela has traveled to 16 countries with her healing work and has been initiated into medicine bundles and ceremonial practices by many indigenous Elders. One of these is the Sacred Pipe Ceremony. Over several years, Michaela was trained and initiated as a Pipe Carrier by White Eagle Medicine Woman.
